Cake
2 c. Flour
2 c. Sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
2 cubes butter or margarine
4 Tb cocoa
1 c. Hot water
1/2 c. Milk with 1 Tb. Apple cider vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
Mix flour, sugar, salt, and soda. Boil together butter, cocoa, and hot water. Pour boiled mixture over dry mixture and mix well. Add eggs, milk and vinegar mixture, and vanilla and mix together. Pour into greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Let cool.
Frosting
1 cube butter
4 Tb. cocoa
6 Tb. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. powdered sugar (sifted helps prevent lumps)
Using the same saucepan, boil butter, cocoa, and milk for 2 minutes. Mix in powdered sugar with beaters and add vanilla. Pour warm frosting over cake and spread before it thickens.
