1 lb hamburger
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper (optional)
3 ribs celery, diced
3 carrots, diced
5 potaoes, diced
1 quart water
salt to taste (1 Tablespoon)
pepper
Brown hamburger. Add vegetables and cook till tender (about 10 minutes)
1 Tablespoon parsley flakes
1 can (large) tomatoes
1 can corn, undrained
1 can kidney beans, undrained
1 can great northern beans, undrained
1 can garbanzo beans, undrained
1 can green beans, undrained
(can use butter or pinto and black eyed peas)
1 can tomato PASTE
Combine all ingredients in slow cooker and simmer until everything is heated through. This is a very filling hearty soup. Serve with hot scones, corn bread or rolls. A McKay family favorite!
